About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and motivated individual to lead the new level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in speech and Language Therapy. This is a new programme, with a commencement in September 2025, which will be delivered using a hybrid approach.

The School of Health. Social Work and Sport is one of the largest schools in the University and probably the most eclectic in terms of educational provision. The School has a relatively large number of HCPC regulated programmes, including Physiotherapy, Paramedic Science, Operating Department Practice, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics and Occupational Therapy. The successful candidate will be joining a school with over 140 members of staff and will work closely with the course team to develop and lead the Degree Apprenticeship programme from its inception. 

About you:

In order to apply for this post, you must be a member of the Royal college of speech and Language Therapists, and registered with the HCPC. You must hold an undergraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy and a relevant post graduate degree. A PhD in a related subject is desirable. You must have experience of teaching and delivering Speech and Language Therapy programmes in the UK, and experience of course leadership is desirable. You must have Fellowship of the HEA or a PGCert in Teaching and Learning in higher Education (or evidence of being able to achieve this within a probationary period.) You should have knowledge and understanding of the regulation and monitoring of Degree Apprentice programmes in the UK. as well as clinical experience of working as a Speech and Language Therapist.
