Advanced Nurse Practitioner - Channel View Medical Group

Band 8a

Job overview

Are you a professional, compassionate Advanced Nurse Practitioner who wants to make a difference and deliver the best level of care?  If so, here is a fantastic opportunity for you to join the team at Channel View Medical Group.  Applicants should be NMC Registered with a recognised Nurse Practitioner qualification at degree level and a prescribing qualification. They should have experience in management of minor illness, minor ailments and injuries and chronic disease management.

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will act autonomously within their professional scope of practice providing acute care for patients via face to face and telephone consultations. The ANP will need to provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care, making any necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner.

They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. They will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process and will work collaboratively with the practice team to meet the needs of patients and support the delivery of policies and procedures.

Working for our organisation

Channel View Medical Group provides excellent patient centred medical services to our 17,500 patients over four sites in the beautiful coastal town of Teignmouth and on the edge of Dartmoor.   We are an innovative, hard-working, and friendly practice that prides itself on creating a supportive environment for the whole team.  Our Group consists of 13 GP’s, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners and a total of 65 staff across clinical and administrative teams.  At Channel View the GP’s and ANP’s use the Doctor First approach, with initial telephone triage and management of their own face to face appointments.

The practice is looking to relocate into a new building in the next couple of years, which will provide a state-of-the-art clinical environment.  We have a close working relationship with neighbouring practices & share clinical leadership of The Coastal PCN.
