Job overview

Clinic Based Services are looking to employ a motivated and enthusiastic specialist senior clinician to come join the Team.

 The post holder will work as part of the Treatment Room and Phlebotomy service providing treatment for patients referred for assessment and intervention, and be responsible for a caseload of people likely to respond to physical intervention.

 

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to provide evidence of effective service delivery through ongoing monitoring and evaluation in line with key performance indicators. The post holder will be required to work in collaboration with colleagues to develop and deliver services that reflect changes in national and local strategy and direction. Where appropriate, the Nurse Manager and Team Co-ordinator will be capable of working autonomously to provide direct clinical care to patients demonstrating expert clinical skills and knowledge. The Nurse Manager and Team Co-ordinator will act as a positive role model, leading by example, mentoring and supervising staff and providing opportunities for continuing professional development for all grades of staff. The post holder will actively participate in the delivery of business objectives, quality improvements and support the Care Quality Commission requirements and audit.

The successful candidate will have experience in wound care, non-medical prescribing and relevant post graduate experience encompassing the specialist field of practice that demonstrates an in depth knowledge of specialist area/transferable relevant skills

Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree Level or equivalent Relevant Core Professional Qualification (NMC or HCPC registered)

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake (as appropriate to clinical discipline)
  • Compliance with regulatory bodies and codes of professional conduct

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant Wound Care experience
  • Evidence of extensive clinical Knowledge, skill and experience
  • Evidence of management development through continuous professional development and/or formal management courses

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently as lead specialist
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours
