What you'll be doing

As a Practice Plus Group Consultant you will have access to great facilities in a well-structured and relaxed environment. We offer high quality day case treatment in a wide range of specialties and deliver excellent clinical care.  As part of our professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard.
 
As a UK registered medical professional, with a listing on the Specialist GMC register, we will support you with your ongoing CPD and career development.

You will be part of a team providing an onsite orthopaedic surgical service to meet the needs of patients treated at the Practice Plus Group Hospital, Plymouth. The centre hosts a day surgery unit and out patients department which offers minor orthopaedic procedures.
 
Whilst a typical Full Time working week will comprise 40 hours (8 PAs), working patterns will be flexible over primarily a Monday to Saturday rota. You will be required to perform orthopaedic surgical procedures and clinics on patients referred to the Hospital, including:

Joint surgery:
• Primary knee arthroplasty
• Primary hip cemented & hybrid
• Primary hip uncemented 

Minor orthopaedic surgery to include:
• Arthroscopy of the knee
• Joint aspiration and/or injection and other Minor Musculoskeletal procedures
• Other minor procedures possibly including forefoot surgery
 

What we'll look for in you

  • UK registerable Medical Degree
  • Past record of academic achievement
  • GMC Specialist Registration in relevant specialty or immediate eligibility for registration
  •  FRCS(Orth) or European equivalent
