We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as a Strategy Analyst at ESNEFT. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at improving healthcare services. You will work closely with senior management to analyse data, identify trends, and provide insights that will inform decision-making processes. Your ability to take initiative, think critically, and communicate effectively will be essential in driving our organisation’s strategic goals.
As a Strategy Analyst, you will conduct comprehensive research and analysis on various aspects of healthcare delivery, including patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and financial performance. You will prepare detailed reports and presentations that highlight key findings and recommendations. Additionally, you will collaborate with different departments to ensure that strategic plans are aligned with the overall objectives of ESNEFT.
In this role, you will provide analytical expertise to support strategic planning and investment decisions and will play a key role in increasing the Trust’s analytical capacity and capabilities to drive forward analytical collaborations with external stakeholders. As part of your day-to-day work, you will also engage with the transformation team and support them with high-quality analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and to help them drive change across the organisation.

- The Strategic Planning Analyst is hosted within the Business Informatics Team and the post holder will work closely with the Strategy, Research and Innovation Team.
- The Strategic Planning Analyst will collaborate with the Transformation team to drive process efficiencies, cost reduction and standardisation through optimising organisational value and resource scheduling through robust data analysis.
- The Strategic Planning Analyst will promote continuous improvement and value stream analysis techniques and philosophy to deliver both incremental and radical change. Working with Transformation and the Strategy, Research and Innovation teams, they will ensure change is clearly communicated, planned and implemented in a safe, smooth and clinically supported manner
- They will work closely with the Senior Finance colleagues to provide data inputs and parameters to long-term financial models and comprehensive investment analysis to support Trust investment strategy and planning.
- You will support the Director of Strategy, Research and Innovation and the Head of Analytics to develop our analytical capability, both within the Trust and across the ICS.

- Proven experience of working in a senior management/leadership role related to the provision of analysis for healthcare services or healthcare policy
- Experience in working alongside a PMO to articulate the case for investment and change
- Leading changes in practice in a complex environment to improve performance/services
- Business Case development and associated analytical methodologies

- Experience of managing and motivating a large team or teams
- Responsible for a significant budget and budget setting
- Identifying and interpreting national policy and implementing required changes
Qualifications

- Educated to masters level or equivalent experience in a numerical subject, such as Maths, Accountancy, Physics, Economics, Operational Research, Statistics or Social Research
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Further relevant training

- Management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience
- Project Management Qualification
Knowledge

- Use of analytical techniques, including supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms, such as regression modelling, decision trees and classification, and/or systems dynamics and simulation modelling.
- Benchmarking, modelling and forecasting skills
- Awareness of evaluation frameworks
- Advanced user of MS Office suite, in particular Excel & SQL Server
- In depth understanding of the current NHS agenda and healthcare policy

- Knowledge of using R or Python to develop web apps and dynamic documents (e.g. R Shiny and Markdown)
- Knowledge of health economics
- Knowledge of data warehouse environments and ability to liaise with suppliers.
- Working knowledge of NHS Data Standards and Information Systems
- Risk management and governance
- Understanding of NHS data flows and information issues, including Data Standards, the Secondary Uses Service and commissioning information
