We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Physio to join our amazing integrated therapy team. As a Band 6 Children’s physio, you will be part of the Children and Young People’s Integrated Therapy team with guidance / support from clinical and operational Band 7 therapists as required. There will also be dedicated time and opportunities to shadow therapists in various settings, attend training sessions and develop your knowledge and skills within the wider school age therapy team.
As a Band 6 physiotherapist, you will be responsible for the planning and management of your own school-age caseload and service delivery using an impact-based model of clinical decision making.
This role includes supporting children who attend mainstream schools and Avenue special school in Reading. There may also be the opportunity to develop your experience and skills working with preschool children in West Berkshire.
Our CYPIT service supports children and young people from birth to 19 years of age across Berkshire. We’re an integrated therapy service, committed to impact-based clinical decision making and co-production of therapy plans with our families and partners.
Main duties of the job

Provide high quality assessment and interventions for children and young people with developmental / complex physical needs

Opportunity to work alongside, and learn from band 7 clinical therapists

Be involved in the implementation of training packages

Function as a specialist autonomous clinician, supporting delivery of the CYPIT model, development of the CYPF and provide support to more junior staff

Contribute to defined projects and service development initiatives as requested

Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Professional Qualification in Physiotherapy with HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- Clinical educators’ course
- Member of relevant clinical specialist interest group
- Completion of courses / CPD in relevant paediatric physiotherapy models eg Bobath
Training
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate understanding of a neurodevelopmental approach to the management of CYP
Desirable criteria
- Experience with the assessment and provision of a range of specialist equipment to support children and young people with a diverse range of cognitive and physical difficulties
- Post graduate clinical experience and working knowledge in specialist Paediatric Physiotherapy with evidence of experience and/or specific training
- Willingness to undertake leadership and management training and development
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum 1 years post qualification experience in adults or paediatrics
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with families from a wide variety of backgrounds including age and ethnicity
- Experience of working with CYP with physical and/or learning difficulties
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Evidence of a value system which puts the child at the heart of actions
- Evidence of an understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people
- Able to demonstrate a clinical knowledge and familiarisation with a range of standardised and non-standardised assessment tools / outcome measures relevant to physiotherapy interventions

- Ability to work in a calm and confident manner in stressful situations
- Ability to work successfully as part of a multi-disciplinary team
