Would you like to progress your clinical skills and professional career in paediatrics? Are you looking for a role that offers flexible working to coincide with your home life and also pays HCAS 

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Physio to join our amazing integrated therapy teamAs a Band 6 Children’s physio, you will be part of the Children and Young People’s Integrated Therapy team with guidance / support from clinical and operational Band 7 therapists as requiredThere will also be dedicated time and opportunities to shadow therapists in various settings, attend training sessions and develop your knowledge and skills within the wider school age therapy team.  

As a Band 6 physiotherapist, you will be responsible for the planning and management of your own school-age caseload and service delivery using an impact-based model of clinical decision making.   

This role includes supporting children who attend mainstream schools and Avenue special school in ReadingThere may also be the opportunity to develop your experience and skills working with preschool children in West Berkshire. 

Our CYPIT service supports children and young people from birth to 19 years of age across Berkshire. We’re an integrated therapy service, committed to impact-based clinical decision making and co-production of therapy plans with our families and partners.

  • Provide high quality assessment and interventions for children and young people with developmental / complex physical needs 

  • Opportunity to work alongside, and learn from band 7 clinical therapists 

  • Be involved in the implementation of training packages  

  • Function as a specialist autonomous clinician, supporting delivery of the CYPIT model, development of the CYPF and provide support to more junior staff 

  • Contribute to defined projects and service development initiatives as requested 

  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records

  • Professional Qualification in Physiotherapy with HCPC registration

  • Clinical educators’ course
  • Member of relevant clinical specialist interest group
  • Completion of courses / CPD in relevant paediatric physiotherapy models eg Bobath

Training

  • Able to demonstrate understanding of a neurodevelopmental approach to the management of CYP

  • Experience with the assessment and provision of a range of specialist equipment to support children and young people with a diverse range of cognitive and physical difficulties
  • Post graduate clinical experience and working knowledge in specialist Paediatric Physiotherapy with evidence of experience and/or specific training
  • Willingness to undertake leadership and management training and development

Previous Experience

  • Minimum 1 years post qualification experience in adults or paediatrics

  • Experience of working with families from a wide variety of backgrounds including age and ethnicity
  • Experience of working with CYP with physical and/or learning difficulties

  • Evidence of an understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people
  • Able to demonstrate a clinical knowledge and familiarisation with a range of standardised and non-standardised assessment tools / outcome measures relevant to physiotherapy interventions
  • Able to use IT to support and innovate clinical development
  • Excellent, succinct written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a calm and confident manner in stressful situations
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work across professional boundaries to effect seamless family care
  • Ability to self-motivate
  • Ability to act as a role model and leader to others, in adopting change
