Applications are invited for a Laparoscopic Colorectal Clinical Fellow (Post-CCT) at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, Guildford. The role commences from April 2025 for a period of 12 months fixed term on a full time basis
The Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit was established in 1995 and has an international reputation for teaching and training in minimal access therapy. There is also a well-established programme of research in a variety of allied fields including health economics, surgical outcomes, enhanced recovery, and immune response to surgery, new technology andimaging. The MATTU is part of the General Surgery Specialty Business Unit.
Main duties of the job
The post is aimed at Post-CCT Specialist Registrars who are interested in advancing a career in gastrointestinal surgery by the opportunity to further develop specialist skills in minimally invasive general and colorectal surgery. There are excellent opportunities to be involved with the teaching and research activities of the MATTU.
This is a full time position that will incorporate a 1:3 Wednesday day only on call, weekend days on call (Friday - Sunday) on a 1:10 basis; and weekend nights on call (Friday only) on a 1:10 basis, all with prospective cover in place.

- Full GMC registration
- MBBS or equivalent
- FRCS or equivalent
- Post-CCT qualification
Desirable criteria
- JAG accreditation for colonoscopy
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Sound clinical skills
- Competent in management of medical emergencies, including out of hours on call
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
