Main duties of the job
We are excited to invite applications for the Fellowship Programme Director post who will support the overall management and quality control of the Fellowship Programme in the Trust, with specific responsibility for Foundation fellowship year 3. The postholder will work with local lead educators to ensure that each placement of the programme and the programme as a whole meets the standards for training. They will ensure that each trainee is able to access a comprehensive range of experiences which will enables them to gain the competences necessary for their stage of training. |

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with the undergraduate module and placement leads. They will be expected to go to the clinical areas where students are placed, make contact with the students, and teach them regularly. The exact teaching timetable and groups of students will be flexible depending on the time of year. However, it is expected that the postholder will spend around 50% of their week face to face with students. The postholder will need to show initiative and the ability to manage their own time. Supervision for the fellowship in UHS would be from the Director of Medical Education and the DME team at UHS.
This role will provide the post holder with ample opportunities to develop their teaching skills through a combination of time spent teaching, mentorship from the module and placement leads, observing other teachers, and delivering observed teaching sessions with feedback.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Individuals wishing to apply must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.
