Job overview

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Part-Time Support Medical Secretary within our Early Intervention Team, based at The Mount. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills and experience in a medical secretary position.

We are seeking a candidate with previous administrative experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will have the chance to work closely alongside our medical secretary, learning on the job and gaining valuable skills and experience, opening up further career opportunities in the future.

This is a part time role 18.75hrs per week, days and hours TBC

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support in providing an efficient and effective secretarial service to support medical staff in maintaining a safe, efficient and effective clinical service.

The post holder will be expected to organise their own time and workload and delegated tasks within their remit. The post holder will be expected to utilise good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and external agencies as required.

The post requires excellent organisational skills including medical audio/digital-typing.  The post holder will utilise a range of technical skills including word-processing, email and computerised diary systems, and employ a range of electronic systems relating to clinical records.

The confidential nature of all work must be understood and safeguarded.  The post holder will be expected to help provide support with cover for absent colleagues as necessary for short periods of time such as annual leave and short-term sickness.

  • Good level of general education including Mathematics and English at GCSE or equivalent.
  • Word processing and audio skills OCR II or equivalent.
  • NVQ level II Business Administration or equivalent
