Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) is the generic term applied to staff recruited specifically to operate within the inner cordon or in hazardous environments. Individuals may be required to work in hazardous environments such as CBRNE or HazMat situations, structural collapses, complex entrapments, working at height or on or near water.
Hazardous Area Response Teams are expected to be able to operate in highly pressurised environments which may pose real dangers to the individual. You will be appropriately trained and provided with PPE to mitigate against these risks but individuals will still need to be mentally and physically resilient to undertake the role.
