JOB SUMMARY
 

To provide full administrative and clerical support to the ward team and medical staff. To be a full member of the ward team, and assist in the smooth running of the ward. The role is to be agreed with the ward manager to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

JOB PURPOSE

 

To provide high quality reception services for the Trust and, maintaining the highest standards of service delivery and Customer Care, act as a first point of contact to patients, relatives or other members of the public.

The post holder is expected to organise their workload in accordance with the demands of the Department.

To co-ordinate his/her activities to ensure efficiency of service within the organisation. He/she should exercise initiative and it is vital that confidentiality is maintained at all times.

He/she cover other receptionists duties when applicable due to staff shortage/sickness/annual leave.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Ward Receptionist

 

Guildford – Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Trust

Hours per week:  22.5   Job Type: Permanent

 

 

      We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and hardworking person to join Medicine Wards. This environment will provide successful candidates with opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge in a busy, acute medical ward. Motivated candidates will be supported to work with the clinical team providing clerical support to the ward and medical staff. Main duties will be to answer the telephone and carry out general reception duties

Suitable candidates will ideally have:  Excellent communication skills • friendly and hardworking with excellent IT skills.

This is for 22.5 hours per week with fixed three day shift on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7am-3pm.
