Clinical Systems Trainer

Band 6

West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Job overview

As a Clinical Systems Trainer, you will be a highly motivated individual supporting high-quality training and training media. You will have the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels. Experience in the production of e-learning would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working on their own initiative but also be a good team player. You will have strong planning and organizational skills, ensuring training meets the needs of the departments and organization. As part of the clinical systems training team, you will create relevant in-house training programs and resources for staff, select the most appropriate training methods and activities, perform needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and areas for improvement, and provide vital information about training sessions and available training. You will liaise with management and service to create training plans and bespoke training as required through the Learning Needs Assessment.

This is a one-year fixed-term contract based at St Bernard's Ealing Broadway and other locations within Ealing, Hounslow, and Hammersmith & Fulham. The primary focus is on supporting MINT services, but additional duties may involve supporting other services as needed. Occasional travel to Broadmoor may be required.

Main duties of the job

  1. Rio and SystmOne Implementation: You will be part of the team rolling out these clinical systems across various departments.
  2. E-Learning Development: Creating engaging and informative bite-size video content for training purposes. This includes scripting, recording, and editing videos that can be used for self-paced learning.
  3. Training Plan Development: Updating and developing comprehensive training plans tailored to different roles and departments. This ensures that all staff receive the necessary training to perform their duties efficiently.
  4. Quick Reference Guides (QRGs): Designing easy-to-follow guides that provide quick answers to common questions and procedures. These guides help staff quickly find the information they need without having to go through extensive manuals.
  5. Face-to-Face and Online Training: Conducting training sessions both in person and virtually via MS Teams. This includes preparing training materials, delivering presentations, and engaging with attendees to ensure they understand the content.
  6. Project Support: Working across various projects to provide training and support.

These projects aim to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the clinical systems in use, ensuring that all staff are well-equipped to utilize these tools to their fullest potential.
