Newcastle upon Tyne Hospital Trust are pleased to announce the creation of a new Band 6 rotational post within our Paediatric Team. 

This rotational post will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain experience working across both our Paediatric Acute and Community Services. The service includes a number of regional and national services including paediatric oncology, stem cell transplant, respiratory and paediatric neurology.

Each rotation is 12 months in duration, allowing the successful applicant to develop a greater breadth of knowledge in Occupational Therapy across a range of specialist clinical areas. The post holder will have access to a number of professional and personal development opportunities as well as work on areas of service developmental at both a local and regional level.

In addition to this permanent position, and as a result of service expansion, we have a number of fixed term and secondment opportunities available within the NUTH children Occupational Therapy team.

To carry out comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention in a range of clinical areas.  The post holder will be required to understand the impact of Occupational participation on a child’s motor, sensory and psych social development.

Candidates should have some experience of working within children’s services and experience of using standardized and observational assessments. In addition, experience of postural management and children’s equipment is preferrable although training within this area can be provided.
