This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in East London, covering two diverse areas within central London, as a Population Health Programme Officer in the City and Hackney Population Health Hub (PHH).

The City & Hackney Population Health Hub is the perfect example of our forward-thinking approach to supporting our partners to take effective action to improve the population’s health and reduce inequalities. This post will play a significant role in supporting the Population Health Programme Manager on specified projects and will plan, deliver and evaluate priorities of the Population Health Hub.

As our Population Health Programme Officer you will undertake detailed project planning to ensure projects you are responsible for are delivered on time and to budget, and achieve the intended benefits and outcomes. The postholder will provide administrative duties and effective governance arrangements for the PHH programme as a whole, and directly address issues and challenges as and when they arise.

With an overall focus on driving collaborative and coordinated action, you will work in the PHH team to reduce inequalities and drive a better future for the community by championing prevention initiatives, and enabling projects to address the ‘wider determinants’ of health.

The post will be hosted within the City and Hackney Public Health team and employed by Hackney Council. Public Health in City and Hackney is a vibrant and dedicated team, known for being innovative and passionate about improving the health of our local population. The team is on a journey to transform both local authorities to take a 'Health in All Policies' approach. Hackney is one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving one of London’s best places to live and work. We have achieved a huge amount: our services, our schools, our public spaces are all amongst the very best. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself. Bringing jobs and investment into the borough, securing the legacy from the 2012 Games, and making this a place which we can all be proud to work in and for.

There is no better place to work in London than Hackney; we have great pride in our borough, our communities, and our services. Hackney is one of London’s most vibrant and diverse boroughs. It’s one of the most sought after areas to live in London with good schools, parks and local amenities, as well as great transport links and vibrant and diverse communities.
