An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Podiatrist to join our Community podiatry service  as a Team lead. 
You will work closely with the Service Manager and will deputise and take the service lead as required . You will have opportunity to work with community services like MSK Physiotherapy as part of the deputising  aspect of the role . 
Working alongside the service manager you will take a lead on managing daily service issues, as well as managing some of the service data, waiting lists etc. This role provides a good split between clinical and management tasks.
Carrying your own clinical caseload you will be expected to be able to provide assessment and treatment for patients presenting with complex  foot pathologies 
Applicants will need the skills to provide leadership and development of staff in our teams. 

Main duties of the job

•    Carry a clinical complex caseload as a senior clinician working across our community or acute sites.
•    Deputise and support the service manager with processes working across podiatry, MSK physiotherapy and speech and language therapy 
•    Work closely with the clinical Team lead in podiatry assuring that processes are joined 
•    Supporting the staff and ensuring we maintain our clinical standards across all locations both local process and environmental factors. 
•    Have a good understanding of all aspects of podiatry (excluding podiatric surgery).
•    To ensure training to all staff is delivered, working with the clinical team lead as appropriate.
•    To be responsible for monitoring, validating the service activity, waiting time data, and putting in initiatives to manage the variances.
•    To attend service waiting list review meetings weekly  and impart accurate service level information.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

To be part of a highly motivated team, working across clinics in the Community and the Acute Hospital. You will be based at Jarvis centre Guildford and will deputise for the service manager working across podiatry, MSK physiotherapy and speech and language therapy from a team leader process perspective. You will carry a podiatry clinical caseload in a variety of clinical settings.

 JOB SUMMARY
 
Working as a deputy to the service manager you will need good communication skills, and be able to direct and lead the teams as required on a daily basis. To take initiative and be proactive on resolving daily issues and be first point of contact for such concerns. There will be a requirement to work with service data, including waiting list management   to ensure the service meets its trajectories. You will need excellent podiatry clinical skills and be keen to continue to develop professionally. There will be a requirement to attend internal and external professional meetings.

Essential criteria
  • Member of relevant professional body Health Professions council Registration (HPC)
  • Post graduate specialism in Podiatry or equivalent experience.
  • Certificate in local anaesthesia

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable post graduate experience
  • Evidence of post graduate CPD training in relevant fields
