Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cancer Services for a dynamic and proactive individual with excellent interpersonal and operational skills.
This is a challenging role where you will be required to track all suspected Cancer patients across specific sites to ensure National targets are met.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the wider Cancer services team to ensure data quality and data completeness for all patients.
You will need to be flexible and adaptable with excellent organisational skills. You will be required to manage your own workload, escalate concerns and ensure all deadlines are adhered to.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Patient Pathway Tracker will be part of a team responsible for tracking patient pathways to ensure that cancer waiting times standards are met. The team will also manage the Consultant Patient Upgrade service. The role will involve sourcing and inputting clinical data in order to meet the requirements of the National Cancer Outcomes and Services Dataset and National cancer audits.

Essential criteria
- General standard of education to A Level or equivalent experience
- IT qualification – e.g. RSA 3, ECDL or equivalent qualification in computing/word processing
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of medical terminology especially relating to cancer
- Knowledge of tumour site specific cancer pathways
- Knowledge and application of Cancer Waiting Times Standards guidelines to meeting national targets
- Knowledge of secretarial/administrative processes and procedures
