Job overview
We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible and dedicated Imaging assistant to join the Imaging team at Hammersmith Hospital -Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The successful applicant will be required to assist Radiographers, Sonographers and Radiologists to help deliver a high quality patient focused service. They should have good communication skills, as both telephone and face to face patient contact is continuously required. They should be able to work as part of a team, with good listening skills and an ability to follow direction and protocol in a busy and ever changing working environment. They will also be expected to chaperone during intimate examinations, in particular when performing transvaginal ultrasound scans for female patients. These patients usually prefer a female to chaperone them and therefore we would prefer a female to do this role.

Main duties of the job
Direct regular contact with patients or handling specimens
Direct regular contact with high risk patients including immunosuppressed, pregnant women
Ability to undertake general physically demanding work including regularly moving/handling patients, lifting or moving loads > 5kg, frequent walking (or running in an emergency) or prolonged standing
Resilience to workplace pressures including working to deadlines or in stressful environments.
Continous training of new staff members
Maintaining cleanliness of department and clinical environment
Extended days or shift pattern
Take part in Rota duties

- GCSE or Equivalent in English
Desirable criteria
- Experience in patient care
- NVQ level 2 in healthcare related subject
Experience

- Experience of working within an Imaging department or within a multidisciplinary team in a clinical capacity

- Previous experience in a team leader role
