Job overview
The Endoscopy Service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced, talented, passionate and forward-thinking Clinical Practice Educator to join the Endoscopy team in our expanding service with modern technology equipment to deliver excellent service to our patients.
We have busy and growing JAG-accredited Endoscopy department which continues to expand following the refurbishment and expansion of our site at Charing Cross Hospital.
We are seeking a highly experienced Endoscopy Nurse with experience in teaching and assessing in clinical practice. Working cross site at St Marys’, Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals, You will be a skilled communicator with a passion for excellent patient care, education, and staff development.
You will place a high priority on maintaining a supportive and caring environment for patients and staff developing the highest standards of evidence-based practice and achieving key quality metrics.
Main duties of the job
- You will maintain an effective educational environment through coaching and staff development within Endoscopy with input into other clinical settings
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to enable delivery of high quality effective care, thus improving the patients’ experience.
- Act as an expert practitioner, resource and role model encourage evidence based practice and provide support and supervision to all staff, including those on professional development courses.
- Work in partnership with the Endoscopy Managers in identifying training needs of Endoscopy staff.
- Develop programmes of education and training, whilst demonstrating awareness of cultural diversity in the workplace and the need to adapt training accordingly.
- Collaborate with the Matron for Endoscopy and Bowel Cancer Screening and the Clinical Education Team in strategy development and be responsible for the achievement of education targets.
- Ensure a conducive learning environment and act as a change agent with a strong professional and clinical focus.

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Degree in Nursing or relevant subject
- Evidence of CPD / short courses
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate qualification in academic practice/
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Essential criteria
- Extensive experience and proven skills in Endoscopy, DOPS Competencies, JAG/JETs Training
- Confident
- Organised and able to plan workload
- Problem solving and task analysis
- IT skills

- Research experience
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Classroom and clinical teaching experience
- Recent experience, managing or supervising a clinical team
- The post holder must have in-depth knowledge of JAG and JETs competency requirements
