Are you a qualified Dental Nurse looking for a new challenge?

Here at Berkshire Healthcare we do things a little differently due to the nature of the patients we see and are looking for a likeminded professional to join our enthusiastic team. You will be working with a variety of patients with additional needs including children, people with learning and physical disabilities and the elderly so you will require an understanding nature and need to be a strong communicator.
You will have longer appointment times and will even have patients that come in to familiarise themselves with a new environment.
The role is based at Skimped Hill Dental Clinic in Bracknell but you will also need to have flexibility to work at other clinics across Berkshire and in the domiciliary setting (as required). The service also runs theatre lists at Royal Berkshire & Wexham Park Hospital’s.
There are excellent opportunities for gaining experience in treating patients under sedation and general anaesthetic and the service are keen to support staff development in any areas relating to dental nursing.

You will work in a multi-surgery clinic, having support from other colleagues.

You will assist in the provision of dental care for children with high levels of dental disease and children and adults with additional needs.

You will have the opportunity to provide care in the domiciliary setting.

You will assist in the provision of care for patients under inhalation sedation.

You will assist on general anesthetic sessions.

Previous Experience

- To have worked as part of a dental team, e.g. general practice, hospital, other PDS / CDS providing chair side duties

- Experience of managing a dental clinic including decontamination, health and safety, management of the clinic diary and ordering consumables
- Other experiences relevant to CDS such as working with the elderly, children and patients with special needs
- Experience in working in secure establishments
- Experience in assisting clinicians when treating patients under sedation and/or general anaesthesia

- Use of car for travel between clinics
- Ability to work outside normal working hours (8.30 – 17.00) given sufficient notice
