Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As an Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you are expected to work in conjunction with the 4 pillars of advanced Practice (Health Education England Multi Professional Framework 2017)

Demonstrate expert clinical practice
Provide leadership and management in order to improve and transform services. 
Engage and champion research through the application of existing research and contributing to new research within the chosen speciality. 
Provide education and development of others, and actively seek this for yourself. 

This is a training post and you will be supported in completing a clinical portfolio, providing evidence of the HEE capabilities for advanced clinical practice and speciality specific competencies in practice whilst working towards a recognised MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. You will be supported by the ACP team and the Urology Consultants with clinical supervision provided.
Your clinical role will include undertaking 2 week wait clinics, requesting and reviewing imaging, performing precision point prostate biopsies, being an active member of the multidisciplinary team meetings and providing results to patients. You will work within an ACP led service, which is supported by our consultant body.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Registered Healthcare Professional on relevant part of NMC / HCPC register
  • Completion of Healthcare Degree (or equivalent - Minimum 120 credits at L6 or evidence of Masters level study)
  • Committed and eligible for participation in and completion of MSc in area of speciality
  • Higher Education Institute approved course in supporting learners in practice or the ability to Provide evidence of: • Supporting a range of learners in practice • Supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
  • Evidence of on-going personal and professional development Registered on MSc Pathway as an experienced practitioner
  • Basic keyboard skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Significant Post Registration experience within chosen specialty
  • Broad awareness of wider Trust initiatives / pressures
  • Coaching/leadership experience
Desirable criteria
  • Completion of HTPA Competencies
  • Independent Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
  • ILS trained
  • Evidence of ability to change or initiate practice
  • Registered on MSc Pathway as an experienced practitioner
  • Further study at Level 7 within relevant pathway
  • Leadership qualification (RCN, LDC, Edward Jenner, Elizabeth Garret Anderson, Nye Bevan)
  • Maths and English Level 2 or have recognised equivalence from the ENIC process
