Occupational Therapist

West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Band 5 Occupational Therapist (Rotational)
If you are recently qualified and looking for a post to support your transition from student to clinician or have some qualified work experience, then this rotational post is for you. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse mix of clients across physical and mental health, inpatient and community services in order to support the development of your core occupational therapy skills.
Each rotation is a minimum of 6 months in duration and supervision is offered by a senior occupational therapist and/or therapy lead in each service area. We are currently offering rotations in:
Mental Health Integrated network team (MINT)
Clayponds Hospital
Community Independence Service
Community Independence
From February 2025 we will be joining rotation with Hounslow Services and wider options will be available that include:
· Community Recovery Service
· Integrated Community Rapid Reponses Service
· Wheelchair Service
· Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team
· Lakeside Mental Health Unit
The Trust has a Preceptorship Programme, which has been recognised with an Capital AHP Recognition Award. The post holder is automatically enrolled and provided time to participate in these CPD sessions.

As a qualified occupational therapist, you will be expected to work autonomously and carry a defined caseload of patients. You will utilise your clinical knowledge and skills in the assessment, rehabilitation and facilitation of safe and timely discharges. Duties include:
· Assessment of patients with an array of conditions and needs.
· Clinical reasoning, goal setting, provision of evidence-based rehabilitation in line with your case formulations and evaluation.
· Person-centred occupational therapy service delivery to a defined caseload, working with multi-disciplinary team members and occupational therapy colleagues to support the service users with compassion to reach their potential and live a quality life.
In the first rotation at Clayponds Hospital you will be working closely with an MDT delivering assessment, treatment and discharge planning to all patients. Care will be centred around an effective and holistic approach for the patient by performing various outcome measures, activity analysis and goal driven sessions. Candidates should be motivated, creative, responsible , dependable and a team player.
