About the Role

As a Senior Marketing Specialist in our Medical Affairs division, you will play a key role in supporting the expansion of our marketing communication services for our clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. You will provide support across a range of medical and commercial projects, with a primary focus on successfully delivering various marketing outputs. These outputs will include email marketing, websites, social media, product campaigns, and medical and educational events, primarily targeting healthcare professionals and patients. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our internal client engagement strategy under the guidance of the Head of Client Engagement, ensuring its seamless delivery and continued success.

With proven experience in pharmaceutical marketing, you will be well versed in the development of content for a range of marketing materials, alongside having a clear understanding of medical marketing strategy, enabling you to support project teams with defining the approach to, and measuring the outcomes of, various projects. You will also have a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and demonstrate high standards in this area.

In this multi-disciplinary role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your project management skills, spearheading client projects, allowing for real autonomy and creativity. You will also work closely with our Creative team to craft engaging and innovative campaigns.

Your keen attention to detail and ability to navigate the intricacies of healthcare regulations will be vital as we push new boundaries and drive marketing campaigns that resonate with the right audiences.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Crafting comprehensive and engaging content for a range of materials, audiences, and project types, whilst adhering to healthcare regulations and compliance
  • Supporting project teams with defining the approach to a range of marketing-related projects and proposals, as well as making suggestions and brainstorming ideas with clients
  • Supporting the planning, development, execution, and optimisation of various marketing outputs, including the enhancement of marketing processes, organisation of client workshops, and the oversight of metrics to determine project success
  • Working closely with colleagues in the Creative team on the delivery of creative marketing deliverables
  • Providing advice to clients and project teams on compliance
  • Providing proactive and strategic advice to support client projects and our external company presence
  • Addressing and responding to all marketing-related enquiries from existing and prospective clients
  • Helping to increase marketing knowledge and capabilities across the company, including carrying out internal marketing training sessions
  • Providing support with a variety of internal business development materials, such as pitch decks, case studies, the company website, social media channels, and more

About You

We are seeking a proactive individual who will embrace new challenges and thrive on providing a high level of support to our colleagues across multiple divisions. You will have a great understanding of healthcare marketing and meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a real passion for delivering excellent service internally to colleagues and externally to clients, whilst in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, including regulatory requirements and developing effective, compliant marketing outputs. This will be vital as you support an ambitious and rapidly growing global company, demonstrating initiative and contributing innovative ideas to drive things forward. You will also be organised and self-motivated, with an eagerness to work both independently and collaboratively.

Essential requirements for the role are:

  • A degree level or higher qualification in a marketing-related or scientific discipline (minimum 2.1 or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in a marketing role, specifically within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
  • An in-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and guidelines, particularly the ABPI Code of Practice, to create engaging and compliant copy
  • A strong understanding of digital marketing, including social media tools, SEO, and email marketing
  • A willingness to continually explore and utilise rapidly evolving technologies to enhance our marketing and wider medical communications services
  • Strong communication skills and account management experience, building robust and sustainable working relationships with both colleagues and clients
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Previous project management experience, including excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A high level of proficiency in written English, and the ability to apply excellent attention to detail
  • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • An analytical mindset, and the ability to interpret data effectively to generate actionable insights
  • A high level of productivity, and the flexibility to respond to changing deadlines in a fast-paced working environment
  • The ability to maintain exceptional customer service and quality of deliverables under multiple competing demands
