West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a team of staff looking to improve the fitness of patients with acute and enduring mental illness.

 

The post will be based within Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire which is a high security, forensic hospital. The successful applicant will work as part of a dedicated team work encourage and support patients to engage in meaningful fitness activities.

 

The Health and Fitness Assistant role is about to supports Health and Fitness department planned sessions in a variety of different environments, including on ward sessions, Main Gym, Sports Hall, 4G and Fitness studio area.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The Health and Fitness assistant works with other staff to activity motivate patients and helps them to engage in physical activities and sports. They will be expected to work as a team member and follow the guidance of senior staff.

 

Health and Fitness team offer a weekly programme of activities for patients on every ward in the hospital. There is also a need for all staff in the team to take a role in the department safety procedures, such as daily searches of patients and the environment, preparation work for sessions, undertaking patient observations, escorting patients and helping with the management of patient incompatibilities.
