Advanced Clinical Pharmacist - CHS (Inpatient) Band 7 / 8a depending on postgraduate qualifications and experience
We are recruiting a band 7 / 8a clinical pharmacist (Inpatient Community Health Services) to join our friendly and supportive pharmacy team. The post offers an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, self-motivated, and enthusiastic pharmacist looking to develop their clinical and leadership skills. This post provides an ideal opportunity for an ambitious band 7 pharmacist looking for progression to a band 8a post. We will support you in your professional development, including support you in undertaking appropriate postgraduate clinical pharmacy diploma and gaining the Independent Prescriber qualification.
Our pharmacy opening hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. We are based at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading. We offer free onsite parking, top staff accommodation less than 5-minute walk from your base. Prospect Park Hospital houses a medical library as well as a restaurant.

- To provide high quality, specialised clinical pharmacy service to the inpatient community health wards to ensure the safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of drugs
- To participate in consultant led ward rounds to support the medicines optimisation agenda for the safe, effective and evidence based use of medicines
- To be responsible for updating and reviewing relevant SOPs and guidelines

- Good Pharmacy Honours degree (BPharm or MPharm)
- Postgraduate Certificate in clinical pharmacy
- Postgraduate diploma or Master’s degree in clinical pharmacy (Band 8a)
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Independent prescriber
Continuous Professional Development

- Evidence of continuing professional development and compliance with the GPhC CPD on-line recording system to maintain fitness to practice
Previous Experience

- Substantial post registration experience as a practising pharmacist
- Substantial experience in a general clinical / hospital pharmacy including ward based clinical work
- Relevant experience and understanding of CHS services/settings
- Experience of chairing working groups and committees
- Experience of providing medicines related information to patients / carers
- Experience in audit or project facilitation
- Experience in undergraduate and junior pharmacist/pre-registration training/teaching
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working
- Experience of line management and clinical supervision (Band 8a)
