Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist 
Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea Schools Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5  Speech and Language Therapist to join our SLT Education team to work in schools in the boroughs of Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea. The post includes the opportunity to work with a varied caseload across both the mainstream school and the special school teams. 

Main duties of the job

•    Working with increasing independence to provide assessment, diagnosis, appropriate intervention and discharge for children within the role.

•    Working closely with children, families and other professionals, providing advice to others regarding the clinical management to support children and young people as relevant to the post.

•    Supporting the delivery of a wide range of school aged intervention packages in relation to the whole system approach to supporting speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) within designated locality community & school settings.

•    Understanding and meeting professional and legal SEND responsibilities outlined in the Children and Families Act 2014 including contributing to statutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy provision as specified in children’s Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
