An exciting opportunity has arisen within Clinical Haematology for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic nurse to work across the Trust as a Thrombosis and Anticoagulation Nurse Specialist. The post holder will play a key role in providing high quality patient care and education to ensure the safety of patients on anticoagulant therapies in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. This is a fixed term post for 9 months from the date of appointment. A secondment into the role will be considered.

We are seeking to appoint a Nurse Specialist to work 34 hours (Monday to Friday) who has relevant post registration experience, is extremely self motivated and could work effectively alongside a small established Thrombosis and Anticoagulation Nurse Specialist team. You would be expected to contribute to the leadership of the team and ongoing service development. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with patients and the multi disciplinary team are essential as is effective time management. 

Previous experience of anticoagulation and thrombosis is not essential as full in-service training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity to transfer your existing skills, knowledge and experience to this specialty.
