Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.

Agile and Flexible Working
All our staff will have a work base. However the Trust operates as an Agile Working Team therefore staff may be working from home on a regular basis as required by the service. However, occasionally travel around Warwickshire and into your base will be required so access to your own transport would be helpful.

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a committed, dynamic and enthusiastic Anaesthetic Consultant to join our friendly, cohesive and ACSA accredited team.
The successful applicant will join a large team of 26 Consultants Anaesthetists at Warwick Hospital.
Main duties of the job
Consultant Anaethetist WSI Obstetrics
The Anaesthetic Department provides a comprehensive range of services including Colorectal, Urology, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, ENT, Oral & Max Fax surgery, Ophthalmology as well as dedicated robotic lists for Colorectal and Gynaecology.
A special interest in Obstetrics will complement current roles within the department.
The department is supported by a 7 bedded Critical Care unit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
There is a requirement to participate in the out of hours on call rota including emergency theatre, obstetrics, paediatric emergencies and critical care.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Full registration with GMC • Entry on GMC Specialist Register or within six months of anticipated Certificate of Completion of Training date on day of interview or equivalent • FRCA (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
- • ALS / ATLS • EPALS / APLS • PROMPT/MOET
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Anaesthesia and Peri-Operative Medicine • Obstetric Anaesthesia and Analgesia, MDT and Antenatal clinics • Competence in resuscitation and transfer of the sick child
Desirable criteria
- • Experience in guideline and policy development • Experience in or higher qualification in teaching methods • Involvement with Enhanced Maternal Care
Academic Achievements
Essential criteria
- • Evidence in sustained participation in audit and quality improvement • Commitment to evidence based practice
Desirable criteria
- • Author in original publication • Completed quality improvement projects • Evidence of audit activity
