Job overview
A rare opportunity has risen within the Digital Data and Technology department of SCW CSU, for a full-time, Senior Technical Analyst with the Networks team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, tenacious and detail-oriented individual to help support and maintain our systems across the Southeast of England.
The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the provision of an efficient, effective, high quality, professional IT Operation, that continues to meet all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
· As a member of the networks team, you will manage resolution of customer fault tickets in a timely manner to meet SLAs.
· The management and operation of network devices within the SCW CSU DDaT supported environment.
- Management of Switches and Firewalls, in order to monitor and maintain the performance of associated services in terms of their contribution to business performance and their sustainability.
- Maintain and adapt SCW CSU specific networking infrastructure standards, including operational and technical documentation, complying with organisational and technical standards, processes and procedures.
· Mentor and lead junior members of the team.
· Promote best operational practices of a scale environment.
Working for our organisation
The networks team sits within the Technical Operations function of SCW CSU providing support across multiple NHS organisations in the Southeast of England and works closely with the other teams within the Technical Operations structure. This post is focused predominantly on the Kent and Medway area.

Skills & Capabilities
Essential criteria
- Management of various types of networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless controllers, firewalls etc.
- Clear understanding of the TCP/IP protocol and its implementation.
- Understanding of dynamic routing protocols and VPN’s.
- Ability to analyse, debug and enhance LAN/WAN network implementations.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Networking and how this interacts with a LAN/WAN.
- Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences
- Ability to engender trust and confidence and demonstrate integrity in the provision of advice and support
- Ability to work without supervision; Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own workload to changing and often tight deadlines
