Do you want to work in urgent care alongside our partners (Police, A&E’s, social care etc), other secondary care mental health and VCSE services?

We have vacancies in Warwickshire - based at Avenue House (Nuneaton).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a mental health front door service, working in the Mental health Crisis Resolution and home treatment team. The successful applicant will work alongside the Service manager to provide leadership to this busy diverse and professional team. This will include managing the teams and and implementing new ways of working.

The successful applicant should have substantial experience of risk management and a keen interest in crisis work. You will be joining a supportive and friendly team who work with clients aged 17 and upwards. The team covers a large geographical area and provides triage, assessment and home treatment across the age ranges including Dementia clients. The team works with individuals alongside other teams and multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) to determine the required least restrictive interventions to facilitate support, recovery and crisis management.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage and provide leadership to the CRHT to include staff and service development.  Ensure that all organisational systems and process are in place, adhered to and monitored within area of responsibility. The post holder will manage and organise competing and conflicting priorities and manage change in complex situations. The post holder will be required to undertake assessment and clinical interventions as required by service needs or complexity. The post holder will be a resource of enhanced clinical knowledge and competence in the service area.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will need to demonstrate experience of supervising others and working within a secondary care mental health service. You will be willing to take positive risks and able to plan care, manage risk and implement interventions. We work with clients aged 17 plus, providing a high level of care. The Service covers a large geographical area and the post holder will need to be confident about working within the team, lone working and working as an autonomous clinician. There is a shared multi-disciplinary approach to planning care. There is a strong learning culture within the team and the successful applicant would be expected to lead on this.

Essential criteria
  • Relevant Professional Qualification ie RMN, DipCOT
  • Specialist expertise across a range of procedures, Professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma Specialist clinical/managerial training
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience in Acute Mental health care setting
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge gained within a similar environment over a significant period of time
  • Significant experience of risk assessment and positive risk management
  • Experience of managing a multi -disciplinary team
  • Proven experience of supervising and management of others

Other

  • Must have full driving licence and access to a motor vehicle for business use
