Job overview

The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust North Midlands and Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) Department is responsible for the Strategic and Operational Procurement for UHNM (Royal Stoke University Hospital, County Hospital, Royal Wolverhampton Trust Walsall Health Trust and North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare) and 36 partner NHS organisations within the Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Lancashire Health Economies.

The UHNM - NMBC (North Midlands and Black Country) Procurement Group is responsible for the management and control of expenditure in excess of £840 million across the local health economy. The Supplies and Procurement function consists of:

  • Strategic Procurement
  • Operational Procurement including warehousing and stock management services
  • Capital Procurement
  • Systems Services (e.g. Purchase to Pay Systems)

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UHNM Supplies and Procurement Team, this post will be based at the Royal Stoke site.

You will work as part of the Operational Procurement team, sourcing and placing purchase orders electronically.  You will source alternative products and suppliers to achieve cost savings.
