Housekeeper – Children’s Intensive Care Unit (CICU) / High Dependency Unit (HDU)
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our Children’s Intensive Care Unit (CICU) / High Dependency Unit (HDU) as a Housekeeper.

As an integral part of the ward team you will be responsible for the coordination of all patient facilities and services in the ward area to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable ward environment that meets the needs and expectations of parents, children, visitors and the CICU/HDU team.

This role is vital for the smooth running of the department and you will need to coordinate all patient facilities and services in the ward area, including:
• the delivery of cleaning, stocking up and monitoring of top-up services
• monitoring quality standards, reporting deficiencies and recommending appropriate change
• other specified tasks to meet individual ward demands as determined by the Ward Sister/Change Nurse

You will be highly motivated to help maintain our high standards in caring for children and their families, and you will be valued and appreciated for the contribution you give to our team.

The position is part-time (Monday to Friday) and is based at our Royal Stoke site.

About our Children’s Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
Our Children’s Intensive Care Unit (CICU) currently has 8 ITU beds, 4 HDU, 2 Long term ventilation beds and 2 sleep study beds. We care for children from all over the UK and internationally as well as locally within the Midlands, working with Birmingham Children’s Hospital to provide a retrieval service for critically ill children. We aim to meet and orientate all families of children admitted to CICU to provide comprehensive advice and support. We work closely with the psychosocial team of psychologist, chaplains, play specialist, and any others involved with children and families. We provide a point of contact for families either before a planned admission or during an inpatient stay
