Job overview
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of the needs, development programmes of care and for the implementation and evaluation of these programmes for patients and their families.
We are a small unit seeing ladies under sixteen weeks gestation that present with pain or bleeding . We care for patients who may have complications in early pregnancy ie ectopic or miscarriage.
Please note that this is a fixed-term opportunity until May 2025, where back-fill support is required whilst the substantive post holder is undertaking a secondment.
Main duties of the job
Communication is paramount to this role as we have to ensure a caring, sensitive and empathetic manner to patients and their families breaking bad news . You would need to demonstrate excellent communication skills when dealing with difficult situations and provide clear and concise information.
- To provide a high standard of clinical nursing within the ward / department
- To manage a group of patients
- To take charge of the ward when rostered and assessed as competent to take on the roles and responsibilities of leadership and supervision
- To act as a role model to students and Nursing Assistants, Assistant Practitioners/trainees and Nursing Associates/trainees.
- To present a positive, professional image of the organisation and of the nursing team
