Trosolwg o'r swydd

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is proud to deliver outstanding health care across a wide range of general and specialist services,
making it a centre of excellence for children’s health services.

Being a centre of excellence for paediatric clinical coding is also the vision of the coding department which, over recent years, has seen significant investment in developing both the team and their engagement work with clinical and non-clinical colleagues across the organisation. We recognise the vital contribution of our coding team to our overall Trust performance and regard our team as pivotal to our future. The importance of a skilled coding workforce is paramount and we are committed to the ongoing training and development of our coding professionals, both personally and professionally.

Sheffield Children’s routinely achieves a high level in staff satisfaction surveys, and you will be joining a fabulous clinical coding team which is
well-supported by senior management and the Trust Executive. Part of the Trust’s Digital Services, we are a small, well- structured and friendly
team working from a centralized office with the option of working from home and flexible hours.

As a diverse team we are proud of our commitment to an inclusive and compassionate environment, and work constantly to actively promote the
importance of health and wellbeing in our department.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

We are now looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who is an Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC), having previously passed the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) and can further demonstrate significant experience of coding in NHS hospitals, across all specialties and who thrive in a busy, pressured environment.

We are looking for a team player who enjoys a collaborative and supportive atmosphere in both the office and remote environment. You should have proven ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload and work under pressure if required.  You will be expected to work closely with the leadership team to promote the importance of clinical coding and contribute to the department's strategic plan to make Sheffield Children’s a centre of excellence for paediatric clinical coding. You will be passionate about the quality of the Trust's coded data and actively participate in the Trust’s health record digitization plan to facilitate an EPR that supports high quality clinical coding.

Inclusive Recruitment & Selection

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and accurate data capture is an important part of that to ensure we are supportive and representative. Our aim is to ensure that all applicants can see themselves in the available categories on our application form, but we recognise that some of our data capture fields are not inclusive. We have flagged this with our system provider to ask for change.

We offer encouragement and active support to applicants with additional needs, including those from ethnic minorities, with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ+ community. If you wish to adjust any aspect of the recruitment process or wish to find out more about our recruitment & selection processes, please get in touch with our Recruitment Manager: [email protected]

We are continually reviewing our recruitment & selection process to support the long-term aim of Sheffield Children’s being a champion of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. If you have any ideas for improvement, please get in touch with Catherine Gilbert at [email protected]
