Job overview
Wincanton Community Hospital boasts a fabulous rural location and a great place to work. We are situated in the heart of Wincanton, Somerset, we offer good staff facilities including rest room, free staff car park & changing facilities.
The ward has 14 inpatient beds set out in a mixture of side rooms and ward bays. We offer rehabilitation and sub acute medical intervention.
Main duties of the job
We welcome nurses with a range of experience, from working in nursing homes to working in the community, we will value the skills you'll bring and offer you development and training within the role. There is an expectation that hours are worked flexibly which includes nights and weekends.
We are interested in hearing from people who are enthusiastic, dynamic and forward thinking who have experience of working in a team. With the patient at the centre of all you do, you will require good communication skills, be assertive and provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of the Ward Sister.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
- Registered General Nurse
- Appropriately registered with the NMC as per post requirements
Desirable criteria
- Teaching /Assessor qualification
Experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in multi-agency services.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and to have undertaken post registration training.
Other
Essential criteria
- Must be a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel throughout the Trust, to meet the needs of the service.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
