An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and dedicated team as an Associate Speciality General Manager (ASGM) within the Children's Hospital.
As an ASGM you will be a core part of the Nottingham Children’s Hospital Management Group to facilitate service improvement and improved quality of care across the Specialties that are under your portfolio.
The role will have a primary focus on supporting the Community Paediatrics team however there will also be responsibilities within the other medical specialties in the Children's Hospital.
The successful applicant can expect to work closely with the Community Paediatrics team. The post holder can expect to be responsible (alongside the HoS & Matron) for the operational, financial & strategic direction of the department. Particular focus will need to be given to the Children in Care service & recovering the RTT backlog.
You will work closely with the Specialty General Manager, Deputy General Manager and Heads of Service to ensure effective service development, operational management and delivery of high quality patient services for your clinical areas. The successful candidate will be outgoing with an ability to influence change.

Main duties of the job

Applicants for this busy and dynamic role will need to have demonstrable experience of monitoring and managing healthcare targets, a team of other staff and also budgets at a basic level. Essential criteria
- Post graduate (or equivalent) business or management qualification or significant experience in an operational business management role with well-developed business management skills
Experience

- Experience within the healthcare sector at a management level.
- Evidence of having achieved challenging healthcare/business targets
- Knowledge and understanding of secondary care funding regime – e.g. Commissioning, Payment by Results and Service Level Agreements.
- High level of computer literacy, including good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
