Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Medicines management assistant.

This full time role is demanding and you will be on your feet for most of the day

The role of a medicines management Assistant (Band 3)is an exciting an innovative role

The successful candidate will be expected to work in the dispensary and the ward providing the face of pharmacy.

You will work  with the pharmacist and technician providing a seamless service to the the wards and dispensary.

Main duties of the job

The medicines management assistant will work in a supporting role to both ward and dispensary. Working closely with the pharmacist, and medicines management technician you will be expected to ensure patients medicines, and ward stock are available in a timely manner. Medicines will require dispensing and taking part in  a dispensing rota will be mandatory. General audits will need to be carried out to improve service.

The main focus is the patient and you will need to have an empathetic manner.

This role requires the individual to be on their feet for long periods of time.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 5 GCSEs (including English, Maths, Science A-C)
  • Appropriate NVQ2 units in Pharmacy services
Desirable criteria
  • Appropriate level 2/3 healthcare assistant qualification

Knowledge /experience/skill

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate the ability to work to procedure
  • Demonstrates a desire to learn new skills
  • Able to offer advice on the safe storage of drugs
  • Demonstrate the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Desirable criteria
  • Worked in a hospital pharmacy
  • Ability to work in the clinical environmen
