BAND 5 OR BAND 6 ACUTE AND RENAL DIETITIAN (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)

Fast-Track Band 6 development an option

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic dietitian to join our Adult Acute Dietetic Team.  We are open to applications from dietitians that are pre-registration, students or just starting their dietetics career, however, some experience of working within the NHS and the hospital setting would be an advantage.  Furthermore, within this role there is an opportunity for fast-track development to Band 6 once the agreed competencies have been achieved.  We also welcome applications if you are already working within renal as there is a possibility to move straight into a Band 6 position.

We are a small and friendly team that includes a range of dietitians from senior to newly qualified, dietetic assistants and secretarial support.  Professional development is encouraged and supported through supervision and objective setting.  You will be allocated time for studying and shadowing experienced senior dietitians.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and proactive dietitian, with good clinical knowledge, communication and team working skills.  This could be a great opportunity to start your dietetic career or to develop your current skills by working within a team of enthusiastic and motivated dietitians.  You will provide cover to a range of wards including general medicine, orthopaedic, surgical, cardiology and care of the elderly.  Furthermore, this role includes a unique opportunity to develop and expand your skills in the specialist area of renal dietetics with the support and guidance of the Lead Renal Dietitian.

All dietitians are actively involved in student training and host training to placement students from The University of Hertfordshire and The University of East Anglia.  The post-holder will be actively involved in these training programmes and in the development, implementation and audit of patient care practices as part of clinical governance.  There will also be opportunities to develop supervisory skills through mentoring junior members of the team.
