Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has exciting opportunities to join our Facilities team as a Facilities Operative (Logistics Porter) based at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny.

We are looking for highly motivated and energetic individuals who are committed to enhancing the patient & customer experience, therefore you must have a passion for providing a high level of customer service.  

Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.  

 

Hours available:

Post 1:  15 hours per week - Post 2:  18.6 hrs per week

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will undertake a range of specific work functions, across the Facilities service for which full training will be given.  These functions will cover (at separate times), Hospital Logistics which will include:

  1. Portering Services
  2. Environmental Services
  3. Site and Grounds maintenance
  4. Receipt & Distribution
  5. Traffic Management support

The main duties of each function are described in the ‘Key Duties & Responsibilities’ section on the Job Description. The assignment of these duties will meet the priority needs and demands of the service as identified by the manager/supervisor.  The post-holder will therefore be expected to take a flexible approach to their duties, and must also be able to cover rosters which will operate over seven day working, which will include night shifts and bank holidays.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Willingness to undertake & complete the ABUHB facilities competency workbook (within 6 months)
  • Willingness to undertake & complete statutory & mandatory training
  • Willingness to undertake future training as required by the post

  • BIFM/NVQ level 2
