We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible practitioner to join our small and friendly Pre-Operative Assessment Team.  The successful candidate will have an interest in peri-operative care and be able to thrive in a busy area with many time pressures and deadlines. However, this post also provides a great deal of job satisfaction and the opportunity to provide one to one patient care. 

You should possess:

  • NMC Registered Nurse Part 1
  • Teaching and Assessing Qualification 
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Skills in Venepuncture and ECG 

 

Main duties of the job

  • Assess medical, social and psychological needs of patient, devise solutions if appropriate or refer to other health professionals 
  • Request or perform relevant medical test according to criteria. 
  • identify factors which may delay discharge and act on as necessary 
  • Directly communicate and liaise with medical staff to resolve any identified issues relating to patients admission
  • Liaise with access & bookings and ward staff to ensure smooth admission process and identify specific needs or requirements
