An Opportunity has arisen within Fairfield and Rochdale Care Organisation for a Rheumatology Consultant to join our busy and dynamic team to further develop and expand the service.

This appointment will facilitate and ensure continuity of the exemplary Rheumatology service already provided at Rochdale Infirmary and Fairfield General Hospital, part of the Northern Care Alliance (NCA). We are looking for a skilled professional with equal vision, tenacity, and flexibility in their approach. We are looking for a colleague to both complement the existing team but also to bring their own ideas, input, and professional expertise to the department.
A strong team player, you will be someone who remains calm under pressure, with an ability to take charge when needed in an encouraging and supportive style. Your clear passion for high quality and compassionate patient care will be second to none.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
The post is an 8PA post which will include 4 Rheumatology clinics per week in an outpatient setting. The post holder will provide clinical advice and support for ward referrals.
The candidate will be joining an enthusiastic and friendly local department which includes specialist nurses, an advanced rheumatology practitioner, physiotherapy, OT, and Podiatry. All consultants are provided with laptops enabling full access to all systems for remote working if required. We have access to 20(?) beds on the Programmed Investigation Unit for the delivery of intravenous therapies. We work with high quality, supportive primary care colleagues who provide appropriate shared care where necessary. We also work with GPs who are training to develop a specialist interest in rheumatology (GPwSI).
In addition to clinical work, there are opportunities for research and teaching, both undergraduate and post-graduate. These can be discussed as a part of the job planning process.

Qualifications

- Completion of basic training Medicine
- Completion of higher training (CCT or within 6 months of obtaining CCT in Rheumatology at time of interview
- Dual accreditation (for those interested in supporting general medicine)
