Job overview

The Radiology Directorate at the MFT is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Radiographer to a band 7 position as part of the acute clinical team in the CT department at Wythenshawe hospital with specific oversight of the downstream diagnostics and interventional cases from the Targeted Lung Health check (TLHC) screening Programme service for CT service on a dedicated interventional unit. This role will involve rotation into the acute and out-patient CT areas and supervision of the CT staff that rotate between all CT areas,

The post holder is expected to have extensive CT experience, including evidence of teaching/ training and running a busy CT scanner, supported by strong evidence of CPD.

The post holder will have a keen interest in thoracic radiology and will need to work closely with the Thoracic team and RAPID hub. This is a new role to support the downwards TLHC diagnostic, working for the Trust but in close liaison with the lung team and radiologists to ensure a high quality biopsy service is provided. There is a need to be able to work independently to justify referrals, manage workloads and provide leadership to your team in a remote area of CT and liaising with Principal CT radiographer in main department , and the band 7 TLHC radiographers about onwards diagnostics from the screening programme. The post holder will need to be proficient in radiation protection measures and procedures.

Working closely with lead radiologists, thoracic team, RAPID hub and colleagues in the radiology department to maintain a high quality and efficient service to patients and other Trusts

The successful candidate will be supported to develop leadership skills within the CT department and wider directorate.
