Based at Wythenshawe Teaching Hospital (WTWA) and Trafford General Hospital (TGH), you’ll be close to vibrant Manchester, enjoying its culture and excellent transport links.  Whilst also working in the relatively calm surroundings of suburban hospitals.

As we work together to improve the services provided to our local community & those accessing our regional specialist services. You & your patients will benefit from the biggest electronic record system & innovative online patient portal.

As an inspiring & organised individual, you will drive forward quality improvement, governance activities, staff health initiatives & pre or post registration training.   Want more opportunities, consider the career paths of your colleagues who have developed their leadership skills, accessed research opportunities, undertaken a non-medical prescribing course, advanced their clinical competencies & expanded their educator abilities.

Whether working towards your band 7 competencies or applying with a wealth of leadership experience you will be highly supported with regular personal development meetings and peer support from other dietetic team leaders.

Main duties of the job

With advanced clinical knowledge, interpersonal skills, & leadership qualities you will be responsible for the delivery of dietetics in diabetes, lipid disorders, and respiratory weight management, across the two sites.  For TGH, you will also guide your team in the provision of nutritional inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, neurology, medicine, and orthopaedic services.

Alongside another team lead dietitian, you’ll support your team of four dietitians and dietetic assistant to deliver, evaluate & improve practice to ensure high quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care.

A nutritional expert in your field you will provide supervision to post & pre-registration dietitians. Proposing learning opportunities, contributing to competency achievement, & coaching them to advance their own professional practice.

A highly experienced autonomous practitioner with a recognised dietetics degree or equivalent & registered with the HCPC; you’ll assess the nutritional condition of patients with complex needs, make comprehensive dietetic diagnoses, request diagnostic tests, give treatment options, & provide evidenced-based advice. As the consistent practitioner, you’ll review outcomes, & adapt care plans to facilitate patient centred goals.

As a valued member of multi-disciplinary services, you’ll build good working relationships with highly skilled nurses, doctors, psychiatrists & other allied health professionals.  Working together to achieve the best outcome for your patients.
