We are an exciting new organisation putting the needs of communities at the heart of our commissioning arrangements.

Job overview

This Contract Officer role is based in the part of the Contracts Team that manages Community Clinical Service Contracts.

Please note this vacancy is being advertised as a 6 month fixed term role which is intended to provide cover for another member of staff on long term sick leave.

The main role of the Contract Officer is to be the lead for a small portfolio of NHS, private and third sector community service provider contracts – the value of the contracts commensurate with the seniority of the role – acting as the first point of contact between the ICB and the providers and providing effective liaison between the providers and the commissioners of the service.  The Contract Officer is an externally facing role and the post holder will be expected to interact with different providers on a daily basis.

Main duties of the job

The role of this Contract Officer role is also to provide administrative support to other members of the team who manage high risk or high value provider contracts, or who have responsibility for cross portfolio work areas.  This tasks may change occasionally and at the present time this Contract Officer role will be expected to:

  • be the administrator the of the ICB electronic Contract Register (Atamis based) which will include adding and removing users;
  • schedule and take notes for the contract performance meetings with the Partnership of East London Collaboratives;
  • support the maintenance of the Contracts Team shared drive.

The contracts in the portfolio of the Contract Officer can expire at different times of the year, and provider performance or payment issues can arise unexpectedly, and the Contract Officer needs to be able to respond quickly to changing priorities and manage their own workload.
