Can you ‘step up’ to join our specialist surgical stepdown team?

Our team on Albert Ward specialises in acute surgical stepdown, supporting patients recovering from a range of surgeries and helping them to regain their independence through high quality care. Our diverse group of patients include those recovering from major trauma, orthopaedics, vascular and general surgery. 

You’ll be part of an expert multidisciplinary team providing excellent clinical care to patients with complex rehabilitation and discharge requirements, and you’ll also provide acute medical interventions to patients with a wide range of conditions.

Main duties of the job

- To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified.
- Monitor and maintain policies, standards of nursing care and staff development, as part of the ward team.
- Develop the skills and knowledge and then to progress through the second gateway (to carry out all relevant duties without supervision, as delegated by line manager).
- Provide nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers without supervision in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
