Person specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- A minimum of 4 years ophthalmic experience
- GMC Registration with a license to practise
Desirable criteria
- Higher degree or medical retina fellowship
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Competent in intravitreal injections
- Competent in Argon PRP laser
- Competent in routine cataract surgery (>100 cases)
- Previous participation in clinical trials
- Publications in peer reviewed journals
Desirable criteria
- Able to independently manage complications of cataract surgery
- Competent with management of ocular trauma (surgical) and acute emergencies
Skills
Essential criteria
- Working in multidisciplinary teams
- Leadership
- Training junior doctors and allied healthcare professionals
- Communication and IT Skills
Record Keeping
Essential criteria
- Clear legible clinical record keeping
Desirable criteria
- Experience with using paperless electronic patient records

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
