If so, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to work within the Barnet CAMHS Generic Team based at the Holly Oak Clinic, Edgware Community Hospital.
Barnet CAMHS prides itself in working from a multi-disciplinary approach, informed and embedded within the iThrive Framework. There is a strong focus on further developing clinicians skillset and learning from each other. We offer high-quality individual and group supervision, as well as space for reflective practice. There are many CPD opportunities within the team and across BEH; over the last year training has included EMDR.

JOB SUMMARY:
- To provide generic CAMHS assessments, formulation and systemically informed therapy to individuals, families or groups, referred to Enfield GCAMHS.
- To contribute to the Generic CAMHS Family Therapy clinic providing specialist systemic interventions to families
- To offer systemic consultations on clients' psychological care to colleagues, professional and non-professional staff in mental health services, Local Authority Social Care and the Education setting.
- To provide initial Neurodevelopmental disorder assessments including screening for ADHD and ASD.
- To work autonomously and co-operatively while adhering to our professional guidelines and the Enfield Generic CAMHS policies and procedures.
- To provide clinical supervision to junior colleagues and trainees, dependent on experience.
- To work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing a systemic lens to assessment and treatment options, as discussed in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

- Experience of generic CAMHS assessment and treatment, utilising relevant models of psychological therapies Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course with differing presenting problems. Experience of working with children and young people in mental health services, including the application of risk assessment and safeguarding procedures in this area. Experience with routine outcome monitoring. Experience of work in multidisciplinary team/multi-agency contexts Experience of working with diverse communities and within a multi-cultural setting.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Skills in the use of general Mental Health assessments and ability to provide systemic and family psychotherapy Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS Masters level knowledge of systemic research literature in relation to the field of child and adolescent mental health. Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies with children, young people and families. Ability to undertake clinical risk assessment and to work within safeguarding procedures Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health Understanding of the need and rationale for using evidence based psychological therapies Ability to contain, explore and formulate an understanding of high levels of distress both directly with patients and indirectly via supervision of other staff Capacity to maintain a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, and situations where there may be resistance, verbal aggression or the threat of physical aggression Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets Ability to manage own caseload and time Skills in using IT, including MS office applications, electronic clinical record systems
