Staff Nurse - Urology/Head and Neck

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a busy acute surgical ward specialising in urology and head and neck surgery. As a trust we are seeking to recruit highly motivated, enthusiastic nurses with excellent communication and leadership skills. You must have effective teamwork and relationship building skills. You need to have a flexible approach to working patterns. The ward comprises 34 beds being 22 urology and 12 head and neck covering Urology, ENT and Oral Surgery. This is an opportunity to develop skills on either speciality within a friendly, forward thinking team.

Duties will include caring for Urology and Head and Neck patients elective and emergency from admission to the ward until discharge. Providing holistic care to all patients ensuring safe, personal and effective care.

As this position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and involves work that is identified as a regulated activity as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006), any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.
The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £48.00, which includes a small handling fee.

In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.
