Job overview

An opportunity is available for a Physiotherapist to join our innovative team at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, based in Harlow, Essex. We provide ongoing care to a broad range of patients, ranging from those who are critically unwell, to those who need minimal rehabilitation or assessment and advice.

You will be responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice, treatment and evaluation of patients referred to the acute Inpatient Physiotherapy Service, including patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.

In return, you will be supported in your efforts to build on your previous experience to further develop your clinical competencies and leadership skills.

This is a full time position. Part time and job shares will be considered. Assistance could be provided for suitable return to practice candidates.

Main duties of the job

As a senior member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will be integral to the efficient and effective running of the Physiotherapy service, and will assist the Specialty Team Lead in providing the highest standard of care to patients referred to us while also working to improve the service where needed. You will also supervise rotational physiotherapists and support them in their work, while leading the clinical education and practice of student physiotherapists and assist in department-wide training..

Often you will work without direct supervision, and as such you will responsible for managing your own caseload and the seamless transfer of physiotherapy care for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type.

Effective communication with patients, carers and all other members of the multi-disciplinary team is paramount, and you will also act as an advocate on behalf of patients for their safety and to ensure they have a positive experience.

Working for our organisation

This is an exciting time for PAHT. Over the next five years we are on a digital transformation journey, leading us to our brand new hospital. You’ll be part of the team leading and supporting our organisation in a diverse and challenging role; a role which can make a significant difference to our patients, staff and the future direction of our services.

Our people demonstrate energy and commitment towards improving the care and experiences provided to our patients and the drive to be an ‘outstanding’ organisation.

It’s never been a better time to join us.
