We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior CWP/EMHP to come and join our mental health support team.

The post holder will work within the MHST and be a vital part of the development of Children’s Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner/Educational Mental Health practitioner role within the team, offering both clinical and caseload supervision, alongside delivering intervention at a high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

The post holder will be supported to attend continuing professional development sessions and link in with the university training programme for current and future CPWP’s/EMHP's

To improve the lives of children and young people with mental ill health by minimising the impact of their condition through the delivery of low intensity cognitive behaviour therapy  (LICBT)  to promote recovery and well-being.

To be compassionate in meeting the needs of children and young people and their carers.

To work as part of children and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), working collaboratively and in partnership with multiple local partners.

To be professionally accountable and responsible for children and young people’s care, undertaking a range of clinical/therapeutic interventions in patients' homes and other community

To promote social inclusion, community access and participation through the provision of children and young people’s

To facilitate others in the team to develop competence within mental health by providing leadership, day to day supervision, clinical advice and clinical supervision to members of the integrated team as

To be committed to and take a lead role in activities integral to the Trust's Quality Improvement System.

To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental ill health. Deliver Clinical and Caseload Management Supervision.

TEWV CAMHS services in County Durham have had both national and local recognition for their quality improvement work. This includes Nursing Times awards for Patient’s Safety, Positive Practice Awards for Innovative Service Development along with gaining four making a difference awards. Key to our service transformation is engagement with young people; we have participation groups established and we are accredited with Investors in Children. We also work closely with parents and carers, co-facilitating a local parent group with a local community interest group; we are also accredited with County Durham Young Carers.

Qualifications/Experience

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • Successfully completed British Psychological Society (BPS) Accredited or Higher Education England (HEE) Approved academic course of study in line with the CYP IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and will be qualified as a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP)
  • And Professional registration as a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) with an appropriate regulatory body (e.g. British Psychological Society (BPS) or British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP))
  • Completed, or currently be undertaking the CWP/EMHP supervisor (PG Certificate or CPD) or Senior Wellbeing Practitioner G/PG Diploma training programme, provided by one of the nationally commissioned training providers, which provides eligibility to supervise Trainee CWPs and qualified CWPs in line with their registration requirements
  • Substantial evidence of Continuing Professional Development as a CWP.

  • Significant post-qualification experience working with young people who are experiencing emotional distress impacting on their mental health.
  • Experience of delivering low intensity CBT interventions with children and young people
  • Providing clinical and caseload management supervision.
